Ingredients

2 cups milk, preferably whole

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup Flour

1/2 tsp. Salt

2 eggs

1 T. Vanilla for vanilla or banana and 2 tsp. for chocolate

3 bananas for banana

3 T. Cocoa powder for chocolate

Pastry crust, cookie crust, or graham cracker crust

Directions

Prepare the crust you are using. If it is a pastry crust, it will need to be pre-baked at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. When it is done, turn the oven down to 350.

Use a small saucepan, but don’t turn on the heat yet.
Put all of the ingredients except vanilla (and bananas if using) into your pan. Whisk together until fairly well mixed, then turn the heat on low or medium low and cook until thick, whisking often.

Remove from the heat and add the vanilla.

If you are making banana, slice the bananas and lay them out in the pie shell.

Pour filling into your shell. If the filling is lumpy, you can push it through a sieve.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool completely.

Chill in the refrigerator before adding topping.
Top with whipped cream before serving.

Store in the refrigerator for a few days.

Notes

*A deep dish pie plate will take 1 1/2 times the original recipe.
